“Nashville is the Vegas of the Midwest, and it doesn’t disappoint!” – ME

Nashville isn’t called “Music City” for nothing. While country music put it on the map, today’s music scene pulses with an incredible mix of sounds – from bluegrass and rock to jazz, gospel, and everything in between. The city has transformed into a southern playground that rivals Vegas, drawing visitors from across the globe for its unique blend of music, food, culture, and entertainment.

The city offers something for everyone:
• World-class music venues and recording studios
• Vibrant downtown entertainment districts
• Rich cultural attractions and museums
• Outdoor adventures and natural beauty
• Historic sites that tell America’s story
• Professional sports and live entertainment

Though our trip was mainly about reconnecting with friends, we still managed to sample a bit of everything Nashville serves up.

This city barely sleeps, so bring your dancing shoes and get ready to move. Broadway, nicknamed the Honky Tonk Highway, is a four-block stretch where neon lights illuminate world-class music venues and bars named after country music’s biggest stars. We loved bouncing between Jason Aldean’s, Lainey Wilson’s, Luke’s, and Morgan Wallen’s, each offering its own unique vibe and energy.

But Nashville isn’t just about late-night dancing. The city’s neighborhoods offer excellent shopping and sightseeing opportunities. 12 South stands out as a vibrant, trendy area packed with boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants. Another spot we especially loved, The Honky Tonk Party Shop, where you can sip champagne while designing your own custom trucker hat – a perfect Nashville souvenir. And no visit would be complete without experiencing the Grand Ole Opry. While the entertainment lineup can be hit-or-miss depending on the night, the historic venue itself is worth experiencing.

The highlight of our trip! A sun-soaked day on Percy Priest Lake. We hired a pontoon boat with a captain from Rowdy’s Wild Rides and spent hours basking in the sunshine, singing, dancing, and floating in the cool water. As they say, there are no bad days on the lake!
