Honestly the Best Girls Trip of all Time!
I have always wanted to visit the Hamptons. Six of my dearest high school best friends got together and planned a trip to the Hamptons to visit our friend who is currently living there. This trip was filled with so many incredible memories and fun shenanigans’. The Hamptons are a popular summer destination for affluent New Yorkers and celebrities, known for its beautiful beaches, luxurious homes, and upscale dining and shopping. And lucky us we got to go visit a local who just so happens to be the most amazing Hostess with the Mostess! She really out did herself, so lets dive in.
Some of the most popular villages in the Hamptons include Southampton (where we stayed), East Hampton, Westhampton Beach, Sag Harbor, and Bridgehampton. Each village has its own unique charm and attractions.
Many of the homes in the Hamptons are second homes or vacation homes for wealthy New Yorkers and celebrities. As a result, there are many large, sprawling estates with amenities such as tennis courts, swimming pools, and private beaches.
We stayed in a beautiful newly remodeled private residence. Check out the pictures. Not only is my friend an amazing host she is also incredibly creative and an amazing interior designer. You could recreate this by renting a VRBO, there are over 100 options to choose from. Although I’m not sure they will have all the lovely added touches we had.
Most people get to the Hamptons by vehicle. Transportation in a private SUV costs about $300 one way and takes around an hour and forty five minutes. If you are with the right people the ride goes by quick. Plus the drive is actually quite beautiful so relax and take it in.
Once in the Hamptons there are a number of things you can do; wander the the small villages and go shopping, visit the local beaches, explore the art scene, go wine tasting, enjoy some fine dining, or attend a cultural event. Although since we were with an fabulous group we spent a large amount of time at the house hanging out and just enjoying each others company. We also partook in a number of those options listed.
One day we went sailing on Calesi, a private charter sail boat. We sailed around and explored Sag Harbor, it was fabulous. I highly recommend for any group of people plus we became fast friends with Capt. Tom. We followed this up with a Sag Harbor Beach Picnic Dinner, complete with small fire and smores! This ambience was so beautiful and intimate. Such a thoughtful and special experience.
Another day we drove around to check everything out from shops, to estates, to Montauk. We stopped at a few places for a bite, drinks and to take in the scenery.
