I’ve never seen a Blue Grotto I didn’t like.
We came all the way to Italy, we had to see the Island of Capri and the Blue Grotto. Capri is a stunning small island located just off the coast of Italy. The islands natural beauty and captivating history makes it a must-see destination for any traveler visiting Italy.
We walked down to the dock to try and find the ferry over and with our luck we were approached by a man who invited us to join his private tour as they had a cancelation. We gladly accepted and spent the rest of the day with 10 other beautiful people from around the world.
Touring the coast, drinking prosecco and laying in the sun feeling the sea breeze was quite the treat. We went into the Blue Grotto, which during the Roman times was used as a private swimming pool to the Emperor. We then headed to Isle Capri where we were given 3 hours to explore.
We went directly to the tiny shop of the infamous Antonio Viva. A resident of Capri and known for his hand-made leather shoes. He was the cutest man and made us feel right at home. He has been making shoes since he was 9 years old. After picking our favorites we went to grab lunch and ride the chairlift to Mount Solaro. From the summit, you can see the Gulf of Naples and the Amalfi Coast, providing an breathtaking backdrop for photos and memories that will last a lifetime.
